by The Passerine

Rootsy, raw and honest, this soulful Americana duo brings tales of trial and redemption. Lush vocals with sparse acoustic arrangements of fingerpicked guitar, upright bass, mournful piano and percussive texture combine to create a wholly organic sound.

Album Notes
Recorded in a carriage house, deep in the belly of the Appalachians, "Tumblweed" aches with hope and tales of redemption. The long awaited sophomore release from husband and wife duo, Corey and Hilary Yoder is presented with heart and soul woven into each tune. The Passerine collaborated with husband and wife, Adam and Katie Brenneman in this homespun 5 song EP that invites you to cozy up to the fire and quiet your soul.

Earthy alt-folk band The Passerine is led by husband and wife duo, Corey and Hilary Yoder. Adopting the name from the Latin word for songbird, The Passerine has been developing their rootsy sound since 2009 . Raised on a steady diet of bluegrass and Bob Dylan, Hilary's raw vocals and prairie soul captivate with unswerving storyteller swagger, while Corey's mountain rhythm adds depth and subtle texture to the mix. The expressive duo has an honest approach and impassioned delivery that speaks to the heart.
