Album Notes

Singer / guitarist Mark Poole of the rock group The Phantom Six is absolutley obsessed with rock and roll. For 20 years he's been plodding away in the D.I.Y. indie rock underground as a musician/songwriter and producer. As a member of the bands 63 Eyes and Moon, Poole's music has always been a blend of fuzz- pedal-driven electric guitar, melodic pop structures, with tinges of 60's garage and 70's punk. In 1990 he loaded all his furniture up in a rusted out Dodge Ram van and drove it to the local Goodwill store and dropped it off. He then took out the biggest loan the bank would to concede to giving him ($5000) and started converting his tiny 1 bedroom West Virgina home into a makeshift recording studio. Slowly building it up over the years, he's recorded numerous albums of his own material as well as dozens of albums for other regional bands. With his latest endeavor he's recruited his pals Clint Sutton, Bill Sheeder, Billy Matheny and Woody O'Hara, an a-list of players from the WV underground rock scene to form a group that alledgedly practices all the time, is "stop on a dime" tight and packs a huge sonic wallop. Two years in the making, their debut album Plastic Rain is a mix of overdriven guitars, stacked harmony vocals and some occasional Byrds - like 12 string jangle will be observed by more seasoned ears....
