Album Notes

DO YOU LIKE CAKE? Noted as “91.7 WLFR’s favorite power-trio band,” The Post Scripts recently released their debut album; titled “Songs You Can Eat Cake To.” The group consists of three talented, young musicians from the Jersey Shore. The combination of styles from Charles Buccola (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Anthony Capriotti (bass/vocals) and Mark Cimino (drums/mixing) resulted in the creation of music that is catchy, fun to listen to, and even more fun to watch. The Post Scripts’ music is best categorized as “alternative rock,” consisting of mainly a mix of rock, blues, punk, funk, and other good stuff. Having only been around since June of 2006, the group has already accomplished a lot. Their first performance was at the legendary Stone Pony’s Winter Break Party. They have played several shows there, including a show in which they headlined alongside The Red Lyte District. They have also played a show for Max Cruise Entertainment and played at a Saint Patrick’s Day Party thrown by Scorched Records. The whole time they were capturing the hearts and attention of everyone who heard them. Now, after a year of hard work, writing, and recording, T.P.S. is coming out with their debut album “Songs You Can Eat Cake To.” The album is an eclectic blend of alternative rock with a hint of blues, punk, ska tones, and funk. There are clear influences of bands such as Green Day, Bright Eyes, Three Doors Down, Sublime, Jack Johnson, and Weezer. These influences don’t seem like they would mix too easily, but T.P.S. has become the catalyst to mix these sounds, creating music and a style that can only be described as The Post Scripts. There are several important reasons behind the album title of “Songs You Can Eat Cake To.” A beautiful reason is that cake is one of the very few commodities on Earth that can bring together anyone, regardless of their race, age, gender, or any other differences, and form the realization that everyone has something in common with everyone else; and that’s the ability to have an enjoyable experience. Another reason behind the album title is that you can, in fact, eat cake to each individual song on the album. This theory has been tested by the members of T.P.S. (The Post Scripts), as well as their loyal fans. A question arose from a fan during a radio interview as to whether one can eat pie while listening to the album. Although cake is preferred, pie is also acceptable. So whether you don’t want to eat cake (or pie) in silence, or you just want some good, enjoyable music to listen to, The Post Scripts’ debut album, “Songs You Can Eat Cake To,” is the perfect album for you. =)

This is a very good and very strong album, each song being like another slice of heaven (or cake). An excellent album that doesn't grow old or repetitive; there is something unique in every song. Strongly recommended.

The Post Scripts’ “Songs You Can Eat Cake To” is truly a tasty treat for the ears. Some albums are only enjoyable with beer or wine, while others require even stronger substances to seem enjoyable, but this record is so palatable it can easily be consumed with cake. Oh, and Mark Cimino kicks ass.
