ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Robbie Thayer, high school teacher, Massachusetts transplant, car freak. Dave Strahan, luthier, Iowa transplant, cat lover. Mike Brilliot, Luddite, native Californian, antique hunter. Jeanna Steele, attorney, globe trekker, swayer. Marko Aleksic, engineer, driver, obliger. The Real Sippin’ Whiskeys formed in 1998 in the San Francisco Bay Area. For about 15 years they played country, country rock, pop and old time. Each member was influenced by his or her own style. Mike Brilliot grew up playing jazz, hit hard and liked to swing on drums. Dave Strahan wrote songs, believed rock and roll was the shit, and that guitar players should kick ass. Marko Aleksic grew up in Serbia playing folk music and lots of blues. In the Whiskeys, he played bass and did people favors. Jeanna Steele learned to play classical violin, but eventually stopped reading, shut her eyes and began to sing and sway. Robbie Thayer dubbed himself Stone Fingers and focused on writing, singing and hacking rhythm. The end result was honest music without pretense, costumes, or gimmicks. Drop the needle around and see if you like it. We did. If it had sucked, we wouldn't have done it.
