ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Our third CD "Take Three" is a compilation of some of our latest, most heart-felt music.
Some of the tracks are light-hearted and up beat but some are heavy emotional expressions.

F#m Jam, (Gallus & Pisz) is a song that was developed for live performances, to have fun with a few simple chords. The sax player Ron can really get in the groove when we do this song live, and the guitar trades off with him with some great acoustic riffs.

Friends, (Gallus & Pisz) came from that feeling when you connect with people on a deeper level and you realize how important they are in your life. In life, Friends are a foundation that stabilizes you in rough weather and spurs you on to better things. The song is sort of a musical conversation among friends.

Another Day Passes, (Gallus & Pisz) expresses that feeling of how the days pass one after another - they seem to fade in and fade out and sometimes you can't change the progression of passing. Somewhat sad and somewhat wanting, but always reaching for more and reaching for more involvement with life. The song is meant to almost be an interlude.

Communion Song, (Gallus & Pisz) was written as David prepared to speak during the Communion time at church. The song is solemn and basic with a deep sense of love. Joe added some melody and leads and Ron put his soprano sax to work to give it that kind of feeling.

Lost Without You, (Gallus, Pisz & Nordwall) was written for Beverly, David's wife, when they relocated from a short stay in Ohio back to Florida. David came to Florida about a month ahead of Beverly and he realized just how much he relied on their relationship for all things in life. From the simple things to the most critical - after 30 plus years of marriage, you are much less when apart from one another. Hopefully in the song you sense the longing to be reunited with the one you love the most. Ron's flute riffs and wonderful melody came naturally and gave it the light tone.

Between Songs, (Gallus & Pisz) came about during a rehearsal when Joe and David were literally between songs on a set list. As they discussed what they had just played and what was next on the set list, David started "playing around" and found the main rhythm for the song. Joe quickly found the alternate walk down part, they agreed on two chords for the chorus, and a song was born. Little did they know that after they recorded the basic parts, they would build on the song with David's alternate melody and Joe's emotion filled electric guitar. It became one of their favorite songs of the album.

After the Rain Remembered, (Gallus, Pisz & Dash) is originally the piano track from After the Rain released on the Gina's Dreams CD. It was played by Shaun Dash and remixed as a solo piano piece because the part and Shaun’s playing are so beautiful that it is able to stand all by itself.

A Requiem, (Joseph Pisz) started as a way to remember Joe’s dad after his passing, but before the song was finished he lost his brother and father-in-law. He decided to name it A Requiem as a way to remember them all in his music.

Take Three was produced by Joe Pisz and David Gallus. All of the tracks were recorded, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Joe Pisz. We offer special thanks to Ron Nordwall, Steve Siciliano, and Shaun Dash; their contributions and musical interpretation of our music made this record possible.

Take Three:

Joe Pisz: acoustic and electric guitar, bass, piano, keyboards, drums, and string arrangements.

David Gallus: acoustic guitar.

Ron Nordwall: sax and flute.

Steve Siciliano: electric guitar

Shaun Dash: piano (on After the Rain Remembered).
