ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Shapes have released their first 4 song EP. Songs written by Alex Thompson and Ashley Lloyd Thompson; California Dinosaur, Haircut, Take Me Home, and That Road. These songs are inspired by Ashley and Alex's lives along the California Coastline, and their sound is being called Beach-side Americana, with influences of folk, blues, rock-n-roll, back-porch groove, and indie. You can often find these songwriters, who are both vocalists and guitarists, playing in an intimate duo setting as well as with their band, The Shapes. This EP has a full band sound. Ron Work playing lead guitar and album producer, Lisa Edberg playing standup acoustic and electric bass, studio drumming by Mark Quinn, sound engineering and mixing by Andy Zenczak, guest backup vocals from movie starlet, Leven Rambin, and also pro surf commentator and personality, Joe Turpel, all recorded at Gadget box studios in Santa Cruz, Ca.
