Album Notes

The Squares Release Hit Debut Album From 12 Bar Records

The Squares have just completed their album "Life As a Square", out of 12 Bar Productions in St. Louis Missouri . The album -- consisting mostly of catchy, high energy rock anthems, as well as a few strong, passionate slow songs -- is the first of three Squares releases. The songs provide a witty and colorful soundtrack to the life of a "Square", or the average youthful suburbanite, like found in Chesterfield Missouri . The songs tackle issues from high school girls to teachers, and what it's like getting into trouble with both. Yet many of the songs transcend these bounds and leave universally understood themes such as perseverance and the troubles of humanity. These themes all wrap around classic musical melodies and progressions that keep the disk fun and enjoyable from beginning to end. On top of a solid collection of songs, the Squares offer a powerful, energetic, fun live performance that is earning them "square" fans everywhere they go.

This is a must have album for anyone who likes John Mayer, Green Day, The Fray, Coldplay and other high energy, Pop/Rock music.

Life As A Square is comprised of 12 original songs composed by John Frischer, one of the most talented and prolific young songwriters to enter the market. The songs on Life As A Square range from the hard-hitting "Get Out" and "Breaking My Heart", to strings-laced ballads like "Lullaby", with an acoustic jazz piece "Rainy Day Song", and a warm, lush cello on "Piano Song" thrown in, just for good measure.

I'm sorry
author: Anonamous (but it's obvious)
Dear Readers, I apologize about my postage of my words. It was an insult to John and it was an insult to my father who put his blood and sweat, as well as John did, into this album. My dad's dream has come true, and I want that dream to carry on. So... dad, John, I'm sorry that I embarrased you. You can't appreciate music un-sober like you do when you are sober. So now everyone knows what kind of person I am. I've never llistened to the CD stoned and I've never wanted to. John is an amazing artist and my dad is an amazing producer. Once again...my apologies, and John, I totally and completely understand if you say no to my idea about that re-performance. What I did on here was embarrassing and I am ashamed of my self. I wish You all, and everybody, a Merry Christmas. -Ben Cowsert (proud son of Larry Cowsert)
