Album Notes

thestar69 is a solo project created by scottish singer/songwriter Pete. With Pete's distinctive vocal talents, his vision and his songwriting coupled with a rather amazing stage presence, the songs that thestar69 perform have "world class" stamped all over them.

Pete's vision has been clear from the start, creating an album that has "great songs with a big sound to back it up".
When you hear thestar69's debut album "this is modern soul", it becomes clearly evident that this has become the songwriters intentions.

Its clear to anyone outside of this band, thestar69 have a musical diversity that no-one could question.
"Thats the whole buzz about anything in life really is it not"? says Pete, "change! something different! I guess the whole point of me being in a band is to show a freedom of songwriting that rarely happens in mainstream music today".
With me, its all to do with moods i think? somedays you want to hear anthems, somedays you dont want to hear anything!, laughs the singer.

This Is Modern Soul

I haven't regretted buying it. Enjoyed it so much I bought a second copy for a friend, plus the downloadable Acoustic EP. Can't improve on what tintagel said, really. At the moment my fave cuts are "Modern Soul" and "Panic." But it's all rockin' good.

This cd is perfect - everyone needs a copy.

With echoes of the sixties this album rocks. It starts off with a bang with the semi-psychidelic I Need Your Love and grooves right on through So What is the News. Pete has created his own version of the mod style here. It's infectious. Got to get up and dance to it. Hard to pick my favorite cut - that is constantly changing. Today it is Who's There the Most. Each tune has its seperate merits and the whole cd is addictive. Take a listen and then take a chance and buy it - You will not regret it.
