Album Notes

The Strangeways hail from Southern Florida and bring ska in a very smooth "lovers reggae" sort of way. Mixing the dancehall style in with a post 2Tone US pop ska sensibilities, the band released this first full length on the former Ska Satellite Records label, which was a subsidiary of Moon Ska Records. The bands most notable tune "Mango Man" received much acclaim, partial due to the fact that it appear on numerous ska compilations through out the late 1990s. But without the ability to tour outside of Florida much, they never became a house hold ska name. Hopefully people will start looking this band up, because these days the lead singer / bass player, is now and has been for about 3 years, the "toaster" and bass player for The Toasters! Jah-Son has brought new life to The Toasters with his abilities to "toast" in a Jamaican style as well sing and harmonize very smoothly along side Bucket.

This album is long out of print, so pick it up on the digital realm as well as their second full length "Another Round"
