Album Notes

Swamphouse brings back the heartbeat of Organic Hip-Hop with the attitude of Funk and the soul of R&B. An uncommon mixture of musicians from various schools of music including rock and jazz meet up to create a totally new sound that has yet to find a name. Swamphouse pioneers sounds that take everyone by surprise, beats so perfect your feet move all on their own with lyrics so fresh your lips tingle with the taste.

Swamphouse rocks, funks, hops, swings, and rhymes crowds from every background - a fresh sound for a fresh generation of music lovers looking for something deviant and honest.

Frontman Pause brings rhymes so fast and furious you'll find your finger on the rewind button more than once as your ears seek more and more of the delectable words falling like the sunshine from a man born to be a star.

Devin brings a soulful vocal section all on his own in ways most other bands require multiple singers to produce. A range so vast, even he hasn't discovered all of it. Only a lifetime of immersion in the soulful music produced by outstanding African-American artists could have produced a voice like this - it's the voice of Soul music.

John M F Stover adds his extensive history in Rock n Roll to tweak the sound of Swamphouse in just enough of a Rock direction to keep you guessing what the next song will bring. It's a softcore head banging concert anytime John is in the building - you feel the foundation of Rock in every chord, but you know it's more than Rock - John takes the guitar to another level entirely.

Dinshah melts his 12-year history touring with a Jazz ensemble perfectly with his tickled-ivory sound that anchors the tunes solidly with melodies so innovative you wonder if he found his musical gifts among genuises.

Blewfoot throws down drumlines to match wherever the song leads without thinking. Music may follow the beat, but this drummer manages to lead the tempo charge while following the melody - an incredibly skilled musician with perfect give and take adaptable to any song you can imagine.

Bassy J at only 18-years-old stuns audiences with his bass guitar riffs. He's so good live the album just cannot compare. On stage Bassy becomes one with his guitar, so in-tune and involved in the music he rarely opens his eyes in order to let his ears take in the brilliance of his music.

Omar sprinkles in the funk with his trumpet playing a very swing-style part laid nicely on top of Swamphouse, like brassy ice-cream over cake. It's a punchy sound vital to the overall flow of the Swamphouse genre.

Raf tags along on the funk train with his sultry saxaphone, but deviates beautifully into a bluesy mellowness owned for years by masters of the sax. His sound melts into the rest of the band perfectly like a second singer adding the final dash of sexiness to the group.

Swamphouse on CD will stay in your mind for weeks on end. Swamphouse LIVE rivets images of fun directly into the back of your head. You won't forget these guys after seeing them just once, but the infectious sounds leave you with the stark realization that you won't be able to see them just once.
