The self-titled debut by The Way was originally released in 1973 on M!M. Their second and last titled Can it Be? was originally released in 1975 on M!M. One of the earliest pioneering Jesus Music groups to come out of Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, CA, The Way perfected acoustic country flavored acoustic rock. Their second and final recording includes the addition of phenomenal guitarist John Wickham, establishing a rockier sound that included some electric guitar with a distinctly progressive edge. At least three of these songs have an Allman Brothers/Doobie Brothers vibe! The band's life was brief, but very influential. By the mid 80s both recordings were out of print, long before CDs came into their own in the CCM market, so it was never re-issued. Members of the band eventually licensed the rights from M!M to manufacture a Limited Edition re-issue of just 1000 copies. When sales stalled they cut a deal to sell most of the rest of them to Brutal Planet Distribution. Fans of classic early Jesus Music by Love Song, Phil Keaggy, Larry Norman, and Randy Stonehill will be delighted to discover that mass manufactured, licensed copies are available briefly . . . until they're gone for good. Stylistically they will appeal to fans of early Daniel Amos, America, 2nd Chapter Of Acts, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. These two classics were re-mastered for this project. The front sleeve includes a reproduction of the debut album's original artwork. Drummer Alex McDougal later went on to play with Richie Furay Band, Phil Keaggy, and Daniel Amos. Songs include: 'Son Come Out,' 'You're Caught In the World,' 'Song Of Joy,' 'Come On Down,' 'Closer To God,' 'New Song,' 'There's A Love,' 'He's the Reason To Go On,' 'Harvest Time,' 'Are You Listening?,' 'A Cowboy's Dream,' 'Days Of Noah,' 'I've Been Sealed,' 'Do You Feel the Change?,' 'Living On the Bottle,' 'Sittin' In the Pew,' 'Bearded Young Man,' and 'Can It Be?' 18 songs single panel insert w/lyrics to the songs on the debut

So glad to find this cd & site! This was a great album, my friend Pastor Mathis at the Tinker AFB chapel had this record. He loaned it to me back in 1990? It had a great message & sound even then, & still does today.
