ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
If you like your music loud, driving, raw, earthy, and FUN, you'll enjoy Imperfect Crime by The Wild Snohomians. Drawing from a variety of musical influences, we've come up with a diverse album of 19 - I said NINETEEN original songs, all brought to you with that inimitable Snohomish County goodness.
Our lyrics aren't just filler material, they're the result of decades of living, laughing, loving, cigar-smoking, drinking, drag racing, sailing, working, and learning to deal with life's win and loss columns, and you'll never catch us taking ourselves too seriously. Everyone in the band brings their own unique musical energy, and we think you'll like what we've put together. Crank us up and have a rockin' ball!

"...a genuinely amazing mix of humor and heart ache. I really love it!"
--Jack Hyde, Bishops Car Club

"The Wild Snohomians are a group of veteran musicians with an acute sense of humor. The band's music has a definite country influence, but the lyrical content is thoughtful, upbeat and often hilarious."
--Pooner Clark, KISM-FM, Bellingham, WA

Steve Ward

Loud, Proud and Wild
Hailing from an area north of Seattle called Snohomish, the Wild Snohomians demonstrate their formidable bar band chops on their first release, "Imperfect Crime", a rockin' collection of 19 original compositions that draw inspiration from rockabilly, blues, zydeco, Bob Dyan, Chuck Berry and many other familiar influences. What sets the Snohomians apart from other Americana bands is their irreverence--songwriter Van Ramsey, a Florida transplant, wrote the bulk of the material with a laugh and a good time in mind. Tunes like "Big Fat Cadillac 4x4", "Cuban Cigars" and "Old Guys" signal that "Imperfect Crime" is about having fun as much as rockin' your socks off, which you can and will do. Garvie Cooper contributes four standout songs: ""Tattoo", "Real Hot Rod", "Tits and Tires" and "Wave to Ride." The production on "Imperfect Crime" is excellent, featuring Ramsey on keyboards, Cooper on guitar, Jim Freeman on bass, James Riley Cooper on guitar, and Steve Lykken on drums. Although this is not at all tropical music, Jimmy Buffett keeps coming to mind in terms of the style and substance of "Imperfect Crime." Maybe it's Ramsey's Florida roots showing. You wanna rock? Your wanna roll? You want a good time? Get "Imperfect Crime" and help these Snohomians stay on the wild side.

Signature Blend
Your new CD is a lot of fun. Most musically notable is the versatility and variety of styles...you've got
everything from good time rock 'n roll to mysteriously intriguing melodies. Sporting tantalizing guitars, rich vocals, snappy drums and oil-smooth keyboards, The Wild Snohomians can rev up a crowd like a hot rod engine. There will be dancing!

Jack Hyde, Bishops Car Club
