Album Notes

Grammy-nominated producer John Custer (Corrosion of Conformity, DAG, Cry of Love) produced this three-song rock/pop follow-up to the band’s 2009 release Trifecta. 3Play, the 2nd release from The Will McBride Group, again blurs the lines between jazz, rock, and pop, as their fans have come to expect.

About ‘3Play’:
Textured instrumentation, rich jazz chording, plus searing and precise lead guitar work are all reminiscent of Steely Dan and Santana. The hook-laden melodies and intelligent lyrics make 3Play exciting, fresh and “radio ready”. The shuffle, rock and reggae grooves make 3Play irresistible.

Quotes:
"...really enjoyed your set. Always fun to hear new talent. Your original stuff really rocked!", proclaimed Todd Sucherman, drummer for Styx, after the WMG opened Styx’s Raleigh tour stop in 2011.

“Great playing! Smokin’ stuff. Listened to the basic tracks before we tore down…and they sound really amazing…perfect vibe”, exclaimed producer John Custer during the 3Play session.

“All three songs are a lot of fun to listen to and really get stuck in your head. The production is amazing,” says guitarist/vocalist Will McBride. Even though we still bring a lot of jazz influence to song composition, 3Play really rocks! This is our most ambitious and perhaps our best work yet! “

The Will McBride Group just recently embarked on their 8th year of live performance. Will McBride is lead guitarist, lead vocalist and principle songwriter/composer for the band. Eric Weaver (drums) and Sean Geist (bass) complete the lineup that will be supporting this release on a regional tour this summer.
