On their one and only recorded outing, Thinking Day Rally fuse ambitious songcraft with individual passion and a fiercly independent ethic to create their own grand, yet melancholy, intimately epic sound.
Veterans of Tampa, FL's indie rock and hardcore sects (Scrog, Omega Man, Tomorrow, The Maccabees), the band came together in 1999 with the idea of forging a sonic identity as diverse as their respective record collection and own past endeavors. Spanning a pallette of influences, from Americana to 70's AM Radio pop to collegiate lo-fi and beyond.
Personal, poignant and artfully relevant, "Into the Blue Room" showcases an outfit adept at articulating the human condition with hook and heart.
** Oh, and there's a 'secret' Pixies cover ("Where is My Mind?") as a hidden track!

REVIEWS:
"there's something about this record that grabs me. Well, "grabs" isn't the right word - I'll say "soothes". As sparse as the sound is, they can really sound majestic at times." - Indie Pages
"'Into The Blue Room' ignores outside influence in favor of introspective inspiration and execution. But, personal as the themes may be, everyone's had a crush, everyone's been crushed, everyone's wondered why certain small things loom so large; in short, everyone can relate." - Creative Loafing
MEMBERS (1999 - 2003):
John Allen - vocals, piano
Spencer Wilson - guitar
