Think of England is a band and they're not from England.
The four members of this pop/rock group met in the quiet town of Claremont, California, where three of them were college students and the fourth was the college's Dean (and the only one with any tattoos). Sharing a love of well-crafted pop songs and a reverence for true artistic expression, the musically diverse foursome began writing songs. The result sounds like "what might happen if Bono and Fiona Apple had a love child who listened to The Go-Go's." From bouncy crowd-pleasers to dark, affecting ballads, Think of England's eclectic batch of tunes covers almost every inch of the emotional spectrum. Holding it all together is lead singer and chief songwriter Libbie Schrader, whose arresting voice and unique compositional style provide the foundation of the band's sound. Ethereal one minute and exciting the next, Think of England is anything but predictable.
The band was chosen by Jewel in 2002 to participate in her Soul City Café program for emerging artists. ToE opened several shows for Jewel that summer. In November of 2001, Think of England completed a 21-date national tour as the opening act for the artist Poe (of "Angry Johnny" fame). The club tour included venues such as the House of Blues in New Orleans and the Roxy in Los Angeles and helped ToE develop a loyal and passionate national fanbase.
Winners of the first annual Pantene Pro-Voice competition (which garnered over 1,200 entries from female singer/songwriters and female-fronted bands), Think of England has won over audiences from Texas to Toronto, and shared the stage with leading artists like Grammy-nominated India.Arie. The band's lead singer, Libbie Schrader, is now pursuing a solo project in the Los Angeles area.

A must have for anyone

I heard Think of England play in Phoenix when they opened for Jewel. I loved the music, at the time I didn't buy the cd. I always felt bad that I didn't buy it, and when I heard that they were no longer together and that Libbie went solo, I didn't think that I would ever get a chance to buy this cd. Thank you cdbaby.com for selling it. I've been listening to it almost nonstop since I got it. I highly recommend this cd to anyone that loves music.

I saw this band live performing with Pie in Dallas. They were amazing. I bought their cd at the concert, which I should say is the only indie cd I have ever bought at a concert. It is definitely worth the buy. It definitely has some politically inspired undertones, but they are not overbearing. Definitely an intelligent and thought inspiring idie rock band that I would recommend to anyone who is looking to purchase an album on this website.

Simply Amazing

This is an excellent album which contains the earlier works of Libbie Schrader and her band. This multi-facet album contains fast pop to slow ballad songs. She truly has a great vocal range and her talents in music composing could be heard in this album.
