From THIRSTY:

It was very cool to record with some of my heroes.

In Vancouver, Peter Clarke and Gord Lord assembled a who's who of talent which included Jerry Adolphe, Bill Sample, Doug Johnson, Saffron Henderson and Vince Mai.

In Florida, Jon Rose and John Jay Martyn introduced me to some amazing young and talented Latin players - Orlando Machado, Yoel Del Sol, Pepe Aparicio and Scott Klarman were just superb.

Thanks to everyone for your help and continued support.

May the music take you wherever you want to be.
Peace.

More from THIRSTY:

It's fitting that a fan said: "This is what you want to listen to on your drive down to Key West!"

Ideas for Music from Somewhere Warm came while performing up and down the Florida coast and songs such as 'Sunshine and Melody' were composed along the one hundred miles of one lane highway that leads to the Southern most point.

Florida has a great mix of people, cultures and music (the weather and beaches are passable as well!). That mix reminded me of Canada (the weather, not so much) and I really felt at home.

You can hear South American and Miami Latin influences in songs such as 'Eyes of a Dancer and 'Girl from South Miami' while songs like 'Music from Somewhere Warm" and 'Lorelei' have more of a Jimmy Buffett or Jack Johnson feel.

Let's take a drive down to the Keys!

About THIRSTY:

Born in Canada - Thirsty left for South America ten years ago, in search of adventure, inspiration and a little sunshine.

After a few years “off the grid” he ended up in South Florida performing with 'The Castaways', along the coast to Key West.

In 2008 Thirsty released "Music from Somewhere Warm" - ten original songs backed by an eclectic cast of musicians from Miami and Vancouver.

His first professional gig was in Canada in 1975.

Thirsty soon hooked up with producers Gord Lord and Peter Clarke and spent the 80s and 90s performing in the popular Vancouver group ‘Wallstreet’.

As a party band, and a hit with the college crowd, they performed regularly at the famed ‘Commodore Ballroom’. “It holds 1000-1500 people" Lord says, "and if we weren’t playing our own show they would tap us to open for many of the bands coming through town - from ‘Long John Baldry’ to ‘BTO’ it was quite a mix”

Wallstreet performed far and wide, from Port Moody to Puerto Vallarta, and continue to perform on the West Coast to this very day.

Thirsty was also a voice character for the FOX network Cartoon 'The Bots Master' in the 1990s.
