Album Notes

“A sheer veil, backlit by the morning sun, gently unfurling a breeze that is blowing in, from a place you long to be..."

Ready for a musical journey? Immerse yourself in an acoustic-tsunami as Thomas Goodlunas on violin and John Reitz on guitar spread their magic music across the landscape of your heart and mind. Illustrative stories in sound.

Thomas and John began their musical sojourn years ago in the small town of Greeley, Colorado where Thomas was a violin student and John a recent transplant from Germany. Their fateful meeting began with an impromptu jam session that lasted well into the wee hours of the morning when they realized they had not played the same music twice and also that they were experiencing the illusive musical-soul-connection, something every improvisationalist seeks but is difficult to find.

After a three month long hitch-hiking trip from Colorado through the Northwest where they played everything from logger-bars to head-lining several music festivals, Thomas remained in Northern California while John returned to Colorado. Eventually John also relocated to N. Cal, where the two musicians went on to create this one-of-a-kind piece of music… Through The Veil.

“Through The Veil has a life and a following all of its own” says Thomas. “It is a moment in time that John and I not only created but lived as well. It touches people on a different level and for those to whom it speaks, they know they’ve found music that resonates with their spirit and are lifted by it.

John Reitz currently lives in Nashville, TN with his wife and son while Thomas lives with his wife in Western Nevada near beautiful Lake Tahoe. They have more music yet to be recorded. Who knows what musical journey lies ahead as they peer through the veil, looking over the musical landscape and feeling that beautiful breeze still blowing in… from a place they long to be…
