“For many years I’ve been fascinated by the power of music and it’s capability to reach across the cultural and spiritual differences that divide this world. It’s a common language that we can all understand and appreciate, and it can help to bring us closer together.”

Producer Thomas van Nes has been living in Asia for more then twenty years. Since he opened his recording studio in 1997 he has been working on a wide variety of music with a passion for relaxation music. After co producing several chill out albums with Ban Sabai Spa it was only a matter of time before he started for himself. Combining his passion for music and traveling he has recorded in many Asian countries creating a fusion of traditional and Western sounds.

He writes about 'Pilgrim to the Unknown'

“Little did I suspect when my good friend Denis Hekimian gave me a bunch of names and phone numbers in the spring of 2008 that I would spend several months working with so much pleasure and inspiration on this project. I was very fortunate to connect in Kathmandu with some of the masters of their instruments, both from the older established and from the younger generation. They put down the framework for what turned out to be a pilgrimage of fusing the age old traditions of their music with the sounds of the relatively new western saxophone. Together with the possibilities offered these days by modern technology this resulted in an intriguing fusion of West and East.
All drones and sounds are organic and have been used to enhance the character of the instruments in creating music for both relaxation and inspiration.”
