Album Notes

Side Effects – Thom Shepherd (2006)
This well rounded CD features everything you expect from hit songwriter Thom Shepherd’s music – humor, emotion, and great story telling. It includes the song “Thanks To You” that Thom wrote for the troops after going on his 5th tour for Armed Forces Entertainment, and AFE has made it their theme song.
“My Own Personal 9/11” is a song he wrote after fighting – and winning – his second bout with cancer. “Side Effects” is a humorous take on all those warnings you see on commercials for new drugs, and asks the question, “What if love was a drug?”
“She Hates This Place” is about that old division between men and women, and the honkytonk and the church. “Border To Border” is a trucker anthem. “Friday Night Drunk” is a warning to anyone thinking about drinking on a weeknight! “Cowboys & Soldiers” is a comparison of two of this country’s greatest heroes. All these songs and more will leave you satisfied and asking for more music from Thom Shepherd.

Totally enjoyable all through as with all his work. I have more shelf space reserved for him where he will surely be welcome.
