Album Notes

In the complexity of the modern age, it is refreshing to know that the human voice can still communicate simply and creatively the uniqueness of humanity. Through music and storytelling, the magic of our heritage can come alive and serve as a reminder of our achievements, passions, follies, and history. The THREE OF CUPS is a female duo who use the medium of traditional folk music to entertain ,educate, and maintain the integrity of the oral tradition. The name "Three of Cups" comes from a tarot card, which depicts women offering a toast of celebration to life. In this spirit of celebration, Deborah Claar and Ann-Marie Messbauer delight audiences with music ranging from Elizabethan songs to Irish fiddle tunes, American folk songs and hymns, and English bawdry and ballads.

"Sweet Hope of Glory" includes traditional English and American music for Christmas spanning the 12th -19th centuries, with guest artist Tony Barrand featured on two selections.
