Album Notes
Tyler Gathercoal, main songwriter and percussion artist, has been rocking the drums since he was just 3 years old.
Growing up in Greene County, IA, Tyler was known for his talent in writing drum solos. In 2009 the band,
eventually known as Through the Darkness, was started when the energetic patterns of Tyler's drumming met with
the guitars of Kristopher James and Matt Corrigan. Once the soaring vocals of Andrew Gathercoal joined them they
were able to play small shows in Greene and surrounding counties.

Through the Darkness, known for their heavy approach to metal, have a genre-defying setlist that once ranged from
instrumental tracks to brutal metal accompanied by the distorted vocal talents of Andrew. However, 2013 shows
the progression of the band's sound. Since than bassist Joe Swanson and Cameron Stevens, a second vocalist, have
teamed up with the rest of the band and together have played small venues in Des Moines and are able to release
their first professional recordings to the public.

Much more is expected to come from Through the Darkness.
