The first physical CD self-released by brazilian musical act THROUGH WAVES.
A profound mixture of acoustic moods and ethereal atmospheres, the fragile soundtrack of this EP features the first incarnations of what later became the multi-layered complex music composed by androgynous redhead lad RAINE HOLTZ; delicate, very intimate demos and exclusive tracks, requiring a good ear and a most open heart to fully embrace their honesty and vulnerability.
While the heavy, trancing bass lines and exquisite synths would put this EP under the genres "ethereal" and "gothic", the wordly fiddles (recorded by Vice Fiori, from industrial act Das Buch Vice) and minimalistic guitars would label it "acoustic rock" and "alternative". Whatever you might call it, "Dragonfly Upon an Eyelash" is a deep, moving work, never shining less for its admittedly poor sound quality; a journey to the oceans of an old spirit who sought refuge in the earthly existance of RAINE HOLTZ.
Limited Edition EP comes in a DVD-slim package with 4-pages booklet containing delightful artwork and full lyrics. Signed and hand-numbered, the very two last copies can only be purchased here!
Music genres:
Alternative; Acoustic Rock; Neo Folk; Ethereal; Gothic.

I absolutely loved the EP. Every song has its own atmosphere, leading us to different and wonderful seas.
"Dragonfly Upon an Eyelash" is fantastic. The EP version is very agressive, with strong vocals and heavy drums that fit perfectly with the lyrics and the feelings brought by them.
Then we have “A Hole in My Wing” with a little bit happier melody and a wonderful combination of drums and the piano. The melody is really good.
"A Breath in Me” has a wonderful piano and perfect vocals. This is one of my favourites, it’s just...perfect.
"Flowers of Autumn”... I don’t really know what to say about this song, it touched me in so many different levels that I won’t even try to explain. The lyrics are probably one of my favourites of all TW songs.
“What Have You Promised Me” is also really good, alternating the piano and the harpsichord. The lyrics are very good.
More amazing vocals in “You Walk Through Waves”. The melody is very beautiful and sad, but very sticky too. I can’t stop singing the chorus (wich is not bad at all, by the way)
The atmosphere changes dramaticly again with “Anchor”. It’s a very beautiful instrumental song, with delicate violins and deep sighs. I love it, the kind of song that you can listen a billion times and won’t get tired.
The album’s artwork really surprised me, too. Everything is so beautiful and well-done, I loved every single detail. The photos are amazing. We can notice that Raine put a lot of effort on everything.
I can’t wait until the next álbum, I just hope that Through Waves keep surprising us and getting better and better :)
