Album Notes

Adrift in Time is the debut album from Maryland band Throwing Heads.

Musically, Adrift in Time is angry and hard, yet at the same time it has an upbeat pop/punk feel.

Lyrically, the inspiration for the songs included on Adrift in Time comes from all over - Vincent Van Gogh's paintings, George Carlin, a Tim Powers novel, bad relationships, irresponsible roommates, friends who left too early, as well as all sorts of things that just piss us off.

The songs are generally short, quickly getting to the point and leaving you wanting more. Any time it gets too serious, the record quickly dishes out a track that is utterly ridiculous and over the top.

Basic tracks for the album were recorded at Invisible Sound Studios in Baltimore, MD. All of the songs were recorded live as a three-piece band. Nothing was punched in. Each song is a complete take. Guitars were doubled in a second session at Invisible Sound. Vocals were recorded at the band's own studio in Westminster, MD.

For better or worse, Adrift in Time was recorded as clean and raw as possible. No click tracks, samples, triggers, digital amps, or autotune were ever used in the making of this record.

All of the elements were combined back at Invisible Sound and the record was mixed and mastered by Dave Nachodsky.
