The Thunder Bird Sisters have been composing and performing music since the early 1970's. Margo, Becky, Holly, Tina and Ben have taken part in many events over the years sharing the stories of our People through benefit concerts for organizations and individuals including the American Indian Community House, International Treaty Council, United Nations, Akwesasne Freedom School; in support of human rights, Indigenous rights, protecting the environment, safe energy, political prisoners, alternative education, cultural preservation and peace.
We recognize the important role that our Indian culture holds for Native Women. The men and women in our family work together as we raise our chidren and grandchildren to walk on a Path of Honor.
We write and sing in solidarity with those who struggle in so many ways in this earthly life. Our melodies and harmony carry the words to those who might be touched by the message we share.
It was in 1999 that we recorded and released our first CD, Still Singin', which won the "2000 Native American Music Award for Best Folk/Country Artist"
