Every once in a blue moon a voice resonates with a message that embraces generations. Tia McGraff is that voice! Her gutsy alto, ranging from soul-stirring passion to angelic beauty, has been heard everywhere from The Toronto Blue Jays to the Frank Brown Intl. Songwriting Fesitval, Alabama and the coveted spotlight of Nashville's Bluebird Cafe.
Both of Tia's indie album releases "Small Town Life", and "Jewel's Cafe", won praise from both fans and critics in Canada and Europe. including nominations for indie album of the year in Europe, and video airplay on CMT .
Tia has written and recorded with such notable talent as Randy Bachman (BTO), Dan Hill (Celine Dion), Andrew Gold (Linda Ronstadt), and her performing and co-writing partner Tommy Parham (Lee Greenwood).
2005 will be an exciting year for them as Tia releases her latest album, "Outside Of The Circle", a collection of "life inspiring" songs that will plant Tia firmly in the Americana and singer/songwriter genre.
She is currently filling her calendar with tour dates that include house concerts, festivals and songwriter nights, in the U.S., Canada and UK.
Together, Tia and Tommy create a sound that has been described as inspiring, magical, honest, and worth coming back to hear again and again!

Another excellent album from Tia McGraff. The sound has changed a bit, but she shows once again what a great songwriter she is.

When I sat down and listen to this cd, I was blown away by the messages that were relayed in the songs. Each song is different in the way it sounds and makes my toes tap. However, each song shared the same positive feeling. One cannot help but fall in love with this awesome women. Tia is an amazing vocalist and I cannot wait to hear her future work.

Glorious CD from a hugely talented singer-songwriter

I discovered Tia McGraff via this new album. All I can see is Wow! What a talent and what a voice. Emotions that can only come straight from a woman's heart delivered with a conviction, which is completely believable. An album crammed with 14 stunning tracks which everyone could find strength from. Ranging from reflective ballads to uptempo. Apart from the final track Tia wrote or co-wrote all of the songs. She deals with the details of life in such a beautiful way. The album contains life-inspiring songs, glorious ballads and a unique view of the world through the characters she creates.
In the opening gutsy title track she writes about her proud individualism..'God made these lines on my hands so very different from yours, to separate me from the crowd
I say it’s OK...My personal standout track is ' Cracks On The Sidewalk' inspired from the book 'A Tree Grows In Brooklyn' which was also an old black and white movie. The words are truly special and uplifting and full of hopefulness..'There are Cracks in the Sidewalk where a tiny seed can fall, become a miracle even though it might seem hopeless'.
The musicianship throughout is top draw, her partner and producer Tommy Parham is to be congratulated on the many fine arrangements that transcend you to that special place. 'Rest On Me' is one of the most beautiful love songs you could ever wish to hear..Deeply moving.
It would be unfair to pigeonhole her genre wise but probably is closer to Country if said. The track 'Love-Lies-Bleeding 'has been included on a Hot Disc Country CD Compilation. 'Life Lines' too is a very Country song. A personal view of her grandmother's life ...'but how was she to ever know as a share cropper’s wife life wouldn’t be an easy row to hoe'..
The album ends with a tearjerker 'Until We Meet Again', which for those of us who have lost someone very close to us can distinctly relate to.
I doubt I will find a better album in 2005. I strongly recommend it. If you're a fan of singer songwriters like Shawn Colvin and Lucy Kaplansky I suggest you check this album out. I've also recently bought her other albums 'Small Town Life' and 'Jewel's Cafe' equally enjoyable. Can't wait for her forthcoming UK Tour.
