Album Notes

Tian brings a bold sound that transcends genre, style, and class. The richness of his music speaks with influences of the 60s and 70s soul, rock, funk, and yet, it seems so relevant to today. "So much has happened since I made the last record, and I can look back at my life with a different perspective. I think I got that across on this record.”, says Tian. Striving to make a personal record, Tian took the opportunity to work solo in his Silverlake studio to create “The Last Story I Tell” . Drawing on elements of deeply melodic strings and soulful horn parts, Latin guitar and street beats, The Last Story encompasses the vast array of styles that Tian is capable of. Like all great records, the seeds of The Last Story came from a personal experience. Tian spent many years in New York playing and listening in the downtown clubs. His desire to push further took him to Los Angeles, Silverlake, and the roots of “The Last Story”.
