Album Notes

Welcome Home - the debut album release of Bay Area artist, "TieDye Keith" - is an appropriate title for the first commercial solo recording of this 25-year veteran musician and songwriter. The music is like a crisp, new-morning revival of that funk-flavored, full-stage, live-riffing, rockin' R&B sound. Think Spirit meets Cold Blood meets Santana meets Billy Preston meets Sting meets Ike & Tina meets the Allman Brothers... at a psychadelic house jam with the Grateful Dead (of course, Bill Graham-BGP acting as grandmaster of ceremonies).

Welcome Home (and its successors) viscerally embody TieDye Keith's love and appreciation of life, music and love itself: from the rippingly funky pop-opening "Big World" to the last beats of the spontaneous world-music collective cacaphony of the improvosational "Tribe 39". This is as much about the labor of love as it is one. The dense, rich, full-band sound weaves you complexly through parts of the ever-unfolding experience of life and love of life.

Tiedye Keith - WELCOME HOME - the music, mirth and merriment of one of the Bay Area's brightest local musical treasures; this is the first in a series of four blues-infused, jazzy funk-rock jams of Keith's self-penned material to be released throughout the remainder of 2005.

Backed by some of the worlds finest musicians and true industry heavy weights, Tiedye Keith and his friends have been able to create a glorious masterpiece of musical expression. From one tune to the next, the music draws the listener in deeper and deeper, in through one layer only to discover yet another upon another. There is so much for one;s ears to delightfully discover. So rich in texture and feeling, one can sense in some way the energy that was obviously a part of it's creation. There is some profound truth contained therein; a true expression of a joy of music and the human spirit's vibe.

It's bluesy rock with jazz elements and more than a little funk and groove for good measure. Born and raised in San Francisco during the 60's & 70's when the world's eyes were on the emerging San Francisco music scene, Tiedye Keith completely embraces blending all types of music into one big melting pot that breaks down barriers and unites in his own Tiedye Keith unique way.

The cd package itself is worthy of world class fame and attention! A complete wrap around 360 degrees of tripped out colorful bliss on a green as earth setting!! It is simply beautiful and a true one of a kind. A design concept that hasn't been seen before, but must be seen to believe. It is sure to be an album art/design top prize getting contender against any and all. Watch out Grammy's....

A GREAT EXPERIENCE
author: Arthur Kingus
This is a great CD. There are moments when you feel that the band is just going to pop out of the CD and start playing in your living room. There is so much life and color in this music. It reminds me of Santana, Jerry, and Phish all rolled up and mashed together.

A sophisticated folk-rock, groove-rock, jazz-rock stew
author: Ted O'Connell
Although the opening track grabs you with East Bay Grease style horns and wailing guitar/vocal interplay, I like it best when Tiedye Keith and gang settle into the more organic flavors of the CD. My standout tracks include "Lining of Gold" with it's Hunter-Garcia meets Slowhand feel and harmonized guitar lines...the sax, keyboards and percussion that back the impassioned vocals of "Jack"...the effortless flute intro on the rolling "Pledge" and the pure bliss of "Butterfly." This CD flows nicely and is best listened to in one session.

Great confulence of Northern California musical forces
author: Johnny Colaneri
Frankly, I'm amazed at this debut effort. It's literally a who's who of NorCal Musical talent. Tiedye Keith, singer/songwriter/musician/indie producer, has catapulted himself into the bigtime with this amazing first go-round. I know I'll be hearing some of this material on the airwaves soon enough. Not only are the tunes catchy, the musicianship is nothing short of phenomenal. Nice overall flow, and dynamic range of musical styles, but it doesn't stop there. This is a really well done, professional effort.
