ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tigre is a Singer Songwriter that resides in beautiful Los Angeles, CA. She was raised in Nigeria but moved to Los Angeles for music.

She has worked on various projects with talented musicians in the Los Angeles Area. She also performs with the Circus, Cirque Berzerk. 2003/2004, she decided to attend the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood to learn to play the guitar. The experience was a life-changing year that launched her Solo career.

She performs as a Soloist or with a revolving duo or trio depending on the Gig. 2009, she recorded “Apt Taft”, a 5 Song E.P. in her lovely one bedroom Apartment on Taft Avenue in Hollywood. She did not want the influence of a Producer, so she decided to produce herself. She got her friend “Tom Livemore” to bring his Laptop to the pad and they set up, in the living room. She wanted a minimal and simple approach to the recording, so she came up with a mantra “The 3 R’s”. Rustic, Rootsy and Rural.

With no drummer available, Tom and Tigre played a lot of percussions, a bass drum with sticks wrapped with towels and rubber bands, tambourines, cymbals placed on the rug and brushed ever so lightly, poured brown rice in a coffee cup for a shaker and a cowbell. She recorded the guitars and vocals, got her friend Preston “Stone” Mays to come in and play the bass. Every instrument was Acoustic. Tom mixed it and that was the making of the E.P.

Her writing is a purging of thoughts, emotions and observations. Her style of music is Acoustic/Rootsy/Soul. Artists that inspire and influence her are, Ella Fitzgerald, White Stripes, Amos Lee, Muddy Waters, Rolling Stones, Coldplay (Parachutes), Jeff Buckley just to name a few
