Album Notes

The Tiki Brothers are one of North America's most unique and eclectic new bands. They combine Funk, Soul and Jazz forms into an entirely modern, powerful and high-energy setting. Their latest album 'TIKI BROTHERS' is full of solid grooves and infectious rhythms. They use their formidable musical prowess to deliver a style of music rare in this day and age.' Their CDs and soundtracks for the films 'Ladies Night,' 'Moon in the Afternoon,' and Land of Saints, have brought them recognition and support from fans of Funk, R&B, Soul and Hip-Hop.

The Tiki Brothers packed their Moogs, a Hammond b3, a Fender Rhodes, Guitars, Basses, and Percussion and left their home in Venice California for sunny Vancouver British Columbia. It was in Vancouver that they embarked on their newest CD 'TIKI BROTHERS'.

In 1999, the Tikis travelled to London England to record a soundtrack for the film 'Ladies Night' which has given them a large following in the U.K.

Under the musical direction of James Tiki Graham, they have combined 70's soul and funk with new themes which result in contagious rhythms and grooves previously unheard on this planet.

This is the funkiest and most percussive Cd in my collection. Very interesting musical textures weaving in and out from song to song. A very cinematic musical approach. 5 STARS and highly recommended.

Super sharp, stripped down Folk funk. The perfect surf movie soundtrack. Avoids the Big Beat and Trip-Hop pigeon holes nicely, without being too retro.
