Album Notes
The pen sweats blood, and the demons howl in the bones of this album... Crimson Wind is the fourth by singer/songwriter Til Willis, and one of personal scrutiny and jaded world view that doesn't fail on delivering the rock and soul it should. Far too vast in influence and genre to dissect, it moves from the up-tempo guitar driven rock of "Shot Through You" and "Crowding in the Temple" to dirt road acoustic ballads like, "Blood in My Eyes", and then onto far out Capitan Beefheart like moments on "Far, Far, Far".

Grassroots Rock and Roll!!!
In a time when most in the know say rock is dead, and most others in the know say rock is alive and thriving, you just have to look for it... out walks Til Willis with a gust of Crimson Wind. An album that delivers rock and roll with dark foreboding beautiful lyrics. Not the joyful bouncy rock of a pop market, or of the "let's get together and feel alright" crowd, but rock and roll as freedom of expression movement. This album conjures up memories of classics such as Desire by Bob Dylan, and Let it Bleed by The Stones, but with the surrural aspects of Tom Waits, and country take of Kris Kristofferson.

"They're crowdin' in the temple tonight," sings Willis, and indeed they are with Blood in their eyes. The jaded world-weary tone of this work beckons the listener to stand up and put on the gloves, or go home. There are no easy answers here. Shot Through You, Chill Off Your Skin, and Infected Moon all hearken back to a time when lyrics didn't have to be dumbed down, and rock could say something without the decibels going to eleven. Step into the wind, and let it breathe for you.
