For Never & Always finds Timber frontman Daniel Aaron delving deeper into his songcraft with a new batch of pensive, fiery country tunes. For Never & Always was recorded almost entirely in Daniel Aaron's studio, Alysseum Recording. Written over the past year, the transparent, often gut-wrenching lyrics tell stories of various sordid affairs, one-night stands and nights on the town. Every line cuts through yet complements each arrangement. The songs show a keen sense of pop experimentation without straying too far from an intoxicated countrified rock that incorporates a filigree of violin, piano, xylophone and pedal steel. Performed with a minimalist aesthetic, these riveting barstool confessions range from the frenzied to the sedate.
