Album Notes

Tim Davis is a talented singer, songwriter, and producer whose passion is to fulfill the destiny and plan that God has for his life. "Many of us go to the grave with our music inside of us; God forbid that from happening to me".

A native of Kinston, NC, Tim always had a love for music growing up. He followed his brothers and sisters to band camp before he could even hold an instrument. He wrote his first songs with his brothers and sisters with the keyboard his mother bought him for Christmas at age 9. He's been writing and arranging songs ever since. His band director Ernest Fleming was very instrumental early on, helping him form his own go-go band, DC Express, in the 7th grade. He played trumpet, xylophone and keyboard throughout his band career and even learned a few songs from Maceo Parker when he would pop in on the choir or jazz band at Kinston High. But, it was Wynona E. Daves, choir director and long time family friend that helped him realize his vocal potential. It was during his first choral solo performance that he realized that this is what he wanted to do with his life. He went on to Norfolk State University where he received a Bachelor of Music degree with emphasis in media. While in Norfolk, Va. he sang and performed with many secular bands and singing groups such as Image, Intrigue and DC Bad Boyz and even opened up as a solo act for the likes of Method Man, Jeru the Damaja, and Zhane, one of the hottest female duos in the early nineties.

After graduating from Norfolk State University his plan was to head to Atlanta and make it big as an R&B recording artist, but God had a different plan in mind. While at home preparing for the big move, his best friend Michael invited him to a church that led him to Christ just six months before. Tim accepted the invitation, and what started out as a two-week transition from N.C to Atlanta, turned out to be an eight year training session. He too gave his life to Christ and is still a proud member of Victory and Dominion World Outreach Center in Snow Hill, NC where Bishop Zebedee Sheppard, is Founder and Pastor. Tim and his wife Niki are dedicated members of the ministry, youth counselors and members of the Victory and Dominion Praise Team. Victory and Dominion is where God developed Timothy as a praise and worship leader. This is where his anointed music ministry was birthed. He has been blessed to share the stage with gospel artists such as Dr. Rance Allen, William Becton, Gary Oliver, Vickie Winans, Luther Barnes and recently completed a live recording project as back-up for Dr. Mal Williams.

Tim has recently released his freshman album entitled "Don't Wanna Go Back". If you like listening to a mixture of gospel styles, then you will surely enjoy this project. Once you have experienced his sound, you'll definitely keep your ears opened for more. His debut album is a compilation of gospel modes with hip-hop grooves like "Mornin Sun", a touching wedding ballad entitled "Til I'm Called Home" and Christian anthems like "My Main Concern" that bridge the old school and the new. "Victory and Dominion", the theme song and broadcast opening for VDWOC can be heard on this project as well. Tim proves himself to be a well rounded vocalist, writer, artist and producer. This young man is truly on the move and ready to experience all that God has in store for his life and ministry.
