"I've always had a musical kind of thing in my head," Tim Gaze told Surfing World magazine some thirty years ago. From this early beginning was born one of Australia's finest guitarists who although never held in the same esteem as some of his slightly older contemporaries, his musical awareness, mastery of the guitar and a canny songwriting ability have kept him in demand as not only a highly respected session musician, but an asset for any live performance - and there have been many, many, live performances and sessions! Above all else, it was the Blues that attracted Gaze's immediate attention. Besides Clapton, the list was endless of guitarists who he recognised as influential, most of whom interestingly were English. These included Robert Fripp, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, John McLaughlin and Peter Green. Jimmy Hendrix. Previously, Gaze had appeared at The Basement with Jimmy Barnes, The Hoochie Coochie Men and Jon Lord of Deep Purple and Whitesnake fame for the 2003 DVD and CD, LIVE AT THE BASEMENT WITH JON LORD AND THE HOOCHIE COOCHIE MEN. Gaze has also steadfastly maintained his own individuality, appearing and performing at all the major music festivals in Australia, including East Coast Blues And Roots Festival, Goulburn Blues Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, The National Folk Festival Canberra, Goulburn Blues Festival, Fairymount Festival Kyogle, The Blue Mountains Folk Festival, The Gympie Music Muster and The Annual Brisbane Blues Festival.
