'Farm Songs" is a collection of mostly rural and farm-related songs by one of the Midwest's finest
singer-songwriters. Production is stripped down and simple. Some tracks are just vocal and guitar,
others offer the vocals and harmonica of Jan Lucas and the mastery of Jason WIlber on a variety
of stringed instruments. The songs were recorded in 2 days at Airtime Studio, outside of Bloomington, IN.
The songs are drawn from material written and recorded in the past 10 years, and previously included
on the albums, "Heart Land", "Amber Waves", "The Back Fields" and "Holding Up The World". Yet, these
are all new versions, in many ways similar to live performance. Also included is a gem of a new song-
"The Longest Night."

Gritty, acoustic, and real
author: Jim Colbert
This is a wonderful collection of mostly songs of and about farmers, the land, their environment; sometimes hard living in the heartland. The sparse production lets the power of the stories and characters shine through like sun flooding a late summer hayfield. Think Chris Knight's Trailer Tapes, only just a bit more filled out, with a bit more texture and some harmonies. (And maybe with more characters that you actually like and empathize with!) Grimm's voice is made for folk music, and his acoustic guitar is the perfect primary propulsion for these songs, with Jason Wilber and Jan Lucas fleshing things out just a bit more.
