Album Notes

Timothy Dark was born in Harlem, NY, raised in the boogie Down Bronx, and now rests in Queens. He went from Catholic school boy, to thug, to rapper, to Disciple of God. He felt like he could make all those things one. He felt like he could change the world using all those elements. He felt like the world needed a spokesman. Where were the Malcolms, the Martins, and the prophets that came before Jesus? This world was suffering, and somebody had to do something about it.

Somebody had to rise to the occasion. That person had to run up the escalator while everybody was going down. He had to say "Praise God" and scream "Unity and Love" while they were screaming "Sex", "Drugs", and "Violence". Who was this person? Where would he come from? He looked and looked 'til the mirror screamed. He clutched his ears because he couldn't bear to hear the cries. It was him. He was that man. God had prepared him for this, for this walk with Jesus, for this fight with Satan, for this trip through hell to reach paradise, for this Dark Journey.

The new album Dark Journey was recorded at Planet Gray studios and mastered at Engine Room Audio in New York. The 12 Tracks were six months in the making. With guest appearances from The Larval Organs, Kathy Zimmer, Lauren Echo, Nellie McKay, Lisa Bianco from Red Jacket, Jessie Murphy, Lach, Sunnyburnz, Cathy-Ann, Jenny West, George Grant, Brianna Sage, Nicole Atkins, and James Broughel.... and production by Renny of Dramabeats.com, Jules Smuggles, George Grant and Subchronic, Timothy takes you along with him on his Dark Journey to find the light of Christ, overcome Satan, and change the world in the process.

As if Timothy Dark weren't enough of a talent on his own, in this compilaton he joins with a diverse cast of the best NYC anti-folk artists to produce an honest expression of the many problems we face as a nation, never straying from his most pertinent points of spiritual inner-salvation & always remaining faithful to truth. You don't have to be Christian to appreciate the love for humanity herein celebrated. The samples are never enough. You have to hear the whole thing to get the full grasp.

JUST WHAT THE WORLD NEEDED TO HEAR
author: ALVAREZ
Timothy Dark seems to have picked up where KRS and Public Enemy has left off for this new day and age. This Artist has grown over the years and seems to have found his place and calling in Life. Dark Journey is a revolutionary statement intertwined with an aggressive truth. Finally, there is a artist standing up for something more then Diamonds, Drugs and that ever so embarrassing Thug life. Holla at your Boy Al V.A., 1
