ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tim Pritchett grew up on the ABCs of music.

A=All formats of music with the only requirement being QUALITY!

B=Big Band

C=Classics played by his mother, a gifted pianist and career elementary school teacher.

And then ROCK-A-BILLY, RHYTHM & BLUES, BANDSTAND and THE BEATLES.

Taught the basic 3-note guitar chords by his basketball coach, Tim began writing songs in high school then performing in local Atlanta venues throughout college. Upon graduation, Tim went on the road with various pop/rock cover bands, singing and playing rhythm guitar.

Then Tim met Don Dempsey, CBS Records (Columbia/Epic).
Dr. Don hired Tim for an entry level position all the while encouraging him to continue his one-nighters around metro Atlanta, and more importantly working on his recording skills. "I like what I hear in the music you are developing. It is music for the masses. It makes people feel something. Your songs that tell a story, even your sad songs can make people feel better".

Tim's business career at CBS Records developed at an express speed, moving into sales, radio promotion and finally East Coast Marketing Manager, requiring him to give up all live gigs.

No harm, no foul as recording was his first love and he felt his time was his own. Holidays, weekends and vacations found him in various recording studios with producers Rod Smarr, Don Tanner and Scott MacClellan and working with world class studio musicians in New York, Atlanta, Muscle Shoals, Lookout Mountain, L.A. and of course, Nashville. They searched for the best songs available and were able to find songs by writers who were and are the best of the best, i.e., Tom Waits, Paul Davis and of course the "Legend" Buddy Holly. Tim's troop of renegades helped him make the songs his own, always creating a unique sound, changing and growing with the trends of the day and anticipating the sounds of the future.

This album of songs, an anthology if you will, spans 16 years from 1971-1987. Each song chosen for this project is one of Tim's personal favorites and the result is "WAY PAST READY".

Feel Good, exceptional music that takes you back
When you listen to these songs, you can't help but tap your foot. It's reminiscent of the music I listened to in my younger years. The music is top-notch and Tim does an unbelievable job with the vocals. Tim has always known the kind of music that has "hit" potential, and he has put together a CD of songs that are sure to make people take notice. Good Job!

Great variety of the 70s with Tim's soul...
Let's see...can we say a big early 70s influence!? I really like it! Great piano and guitar playing and Tim writes and sings with his soul! One of the things I love most about this cd is its variety: Classical Rock, 70s Country and Early 70s Pop Culture. I am reminded of Jigsaw, Todd Rundgren, Huey Lewis; all of that variety is in this one cd. Nice! I love Not Fade Away & It Don't Feel Good to Cry! My favorites!

Anyone who grew up in the South during the Sixties and Seventies and remember Jo
Anyone who grew up in the South during the Sixties and Seventies and remember Joe South, Jimmy Webb and other great songwriters, and are steeped in the soul era of Stax/Volt will really appreciate this album. Tim can sing like a southern Don Henley, and the band members are all seasoned professionals. If you miss music with feeling and soul, you owe yourself a favor, and listen to this album.
