Although most of tim p scott's music is downloadable, please note that all tim p scott CDs from CDBaby are real full length, genuine replicated CDs, in jewel cases with extensive artwork and liner notes: these are *not* homemade CD-Rs. This means they will last for generations and you can proudly leave them in your will to your descendants.
t.p.s. releases are also available as downloads from iTunes, rhapsody, bandcamp, last.fm and other vendors as downloads as well.
*** Notes on "Canciones de mi hermano electronico" (or "Functional Music Vol. 6") ***
Erik Satie proposed the idea of "furniture music": music that is sort of always "there", like a desk or a painting, which you can choose to pay attention to or not.
t.p.s. tunes are intended to be "functional music": designed to listen to while you do other things. There's plenty of relaxation and "easy listening" music; these are tunes designed to get you energized and out there doing what you gotta do!
For instance, it's the perfect thing to have on your iPod when you're doing chores or yardwork.
Canciones de mi hermano electrónico ("Songs of my electronic brother") is the sixth full length (67 min) completely instrumental release from tim p scott on the Crow Caw Music Works label. These 13 tracks are mainly "industrial-ish" in style with a couple "palate-cleansing" downtempo pieces to give you a chance to cool down.
This release continues the musical journey into the darker terrain suggested by some of the harder-edged tracks on the tps previous t.p.s. release "MMIV" (also available on CD Baby.)
*** Some remarks about "The Wanderer in the Waste" (track 10) and how it came to be ***
It all started with the UK magazine called "Computer Music" which is about -- well, that shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Each issue comes with a DVD or CD with reader demo songs, artist and equipment profiles and collections of samples computer musicians could use in their own productions.
In an old issue I heard this wonderful track that just had the name "GG0100B.MP3." Just a brief 1 minute sketch, it still evoked a powerfulo feeling of wild dancing around the fire after the caravan had stopped for the night. It wasn't a complete composition, but basically a theme that ran about one minute. With nothing to go on but the title, thanks to Google and some sleuthing I tracked it to a composer named George Gousis. A little more research and I found his contact information, which I used to write and ask him if I could use his track as the basis for a new piece I put together. He very graciously gave me permission to do that.
Basically "WitW" is two copies of the original track with some additional arranging, loops and a guitar part. But the essence of the track is really his. I really want to thank him for his encouragement and generosity in letting me do this "collaboration."

NEWS June 2008
I've decided after careful listening to "Fol de Rol" (track 8) from this CD that there was an error in its mastering. I believe that, in order to increase the stereo spread of the track which was too monaural, someone (probably me) added a small delay to the mid-high frequencies. Sometimes this can work to artificially stereo-ize a near-mono source but unfortunately in this case it had the effect of shifting the stereo stage annoyingly to the right. This is particularly noticeable in the first part of the track.
I've just finished a remix and remastering of this track, and want to make it available to anyone who bought "Canciones..." (or anyone at all really). Email me and I'll send you a link to a downloadable copy of it courtesy of your friends at Crow Caw Music Works.

NEWS May 2008
A new set of compositions is having the finishing touches put on them. It's a rather eclectic set comprising More Of The Same as well as a couple new ambientish pieces. If you enjoyed previous tim scott CDs, please check my website periodically for more news about this project.
Inspired by Radiohead and Trent Reznor, Crow Caw Music Works is probably going to make part or all of the new collection available as a downloadable album. Hopefully some graphics and other material will also be provided but the planning for the release is still in early stages.
November 2008
The pieces referred to above were finished and are gradually being prepared for release on amiestreet.com, last.fm, soundclick.com, acidplanet.com and several other online services.
