Possum Tapes CD

The Possum Tapes was recorded in 1993 at Ben Hall’s “Homeplace Studios” in Hendersonville, TN. Tim White who is a noted banjo picker and bluegrass music promoter based in Blountville, TN produced, performed and brought together a world class group of notable musicians for this recording. This entire CD is FUN! It pays tribute to America’s most beloved marsupial, the possum. Practically everyone in North America is familiar with the possum, mostly seen as road kill on our highways. This recording has been very popular since its release due in large part to the “love” of the possum and people’s fascination with this creature. An all-star lineup of musicians and singers help Tim with this project including legends like Jimmy Martin, Jim & Jesse McReynolds of the Grand Ole Opry, Roy Husky Jr., Glen Duncan, Carl Jackson, Wayne Taylor and others. To listen to this CD you’ll find that even though it is a novelty recording, the music on it is great bluegrass!
