The new release by singer-songwriter-guitarist Tim Wray.
“I was livin’ out there south of Memphis/ just ‘bout an hour from the Tennessee line/ listen’n to the rain fallin’ on my roof/ reading books n’ passing time……….”
That sums up the concept of the latest release from Tim Wray, “The Velvet Ditch.” It is the beginning to Tim’s song, Then There Was You. These songs were written in and inspired by the Deep South and its people; A mixture of Americana, country and blues; Songs about the south, the town of Oxford and his own autobiographical take on life in the North Mississippi hill country. For the last 3 years, Tim has been dividing his time between Park City, Utah, Oxford, Mississippi and the road in between. A California native and the front man, driving force, for the West Coast jam band, Fat Paw. Tim and Fat Paw have performed with the likes of String Cheese Incident, Widespread Panic, Rat Dog, Spearhead and many more.
Tim has appeared at the Sundance Film Festival ASCAP stage ’02, ’03, ’04, ’05, Europe tour spring ’04, Hong Kong, China winter ’05, and played in front of thousands at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, UT. Tim is on the road performing material from The Velvet Ditch, new songs and Fat Paw classics.

This album was great! I recieved it in a timely fashion and have been enjoying it since. It has a genuine folky bluegrass feel...and the lyrics are very good. Very soulful. I recommend it.
