Tin Drum a southern Californian quartet brings maturity and complex, captivating arrangements to their latest fourteen-track collection. Mary who also plays keyboards has a rich clear concise voice and harmonizes delightfully with Burleigh. The instrumentation throughout Small Parade is whimsical and magical. The subtle up-tempo percussions create a fun mood but some of the tracks are serious and reflective. Tin Drum provides a nice blend of moods and styles. The CD opens with the title track that has powerful, poetic lyrics and vocals that soar. ‘Wailing Wall’ is majestic and haunting with steady percussions and piano. ‘Luck of the Irish’ has appealing bridges that flow smoothly into each other. Small Parade is definately one of the best AOR (adult oriented contemporary rock) cd's of the new millennium & perhaps of the last two decades. The title track "Small Parade", without a doubt, is an example of some of the most incredibly beautiful and intelligent blending of musical arrangement and lyrical context ever written..this song is a "sleeper" and once discovered by the mainstream is destined to become a "must have" favorite at weddings, and  perhaps will provide the vehicle to the success that this incredible band deserves. "Princess" begins as a dreamy ballad which is stealthly laden with a wonderful "Floydish" flavor through the instrumental bridge which fans of the Pink will cherish &love! Every time you listen to this cd, you hear more of the music that's wonderfully hidden in richly complex, multi-textured arrangements.  The vocals are crisp and layered with intoxicatingly beautiful harmonies. Small Parade is quite simply one of those rare cd's that you don't get tired of..a gem of a CD that never seems to leave the rotation in the player!!!The entire CD is wonderful and provides a full pallet of great music. My advice to anyone looking for some really incredible and different new music...Check out TIN DRUM!! Buy the CD! You won't be sorry!

An absolutely wonderful CD in it's entirety.  I especially love the beautifully arranged, written and performed "Luck Of The Irish" which, if you shut your eyes for a moment and listen, takes you on a wonderful transcendent journey across the Emerald Isle with a magical instrumental blend of piano and violin, laced with penny whistle's..and thats after the incredible beginning of the song which features Burleigh Drummond (the legendary drummer/percussionist from AMBROSIA) playing an Irish BORHAN (is that right?) The CD has made a huge TIN DRUM fan out of me, and all my friends with whom I've shared it.  This is one of the best CD's I've ever heard, I love it!!!!Thanks TIN DRUM!!!!

Purchased the CD at the concert in Carpinteria.  My wife & I haven't stopped listening to it since.  It's Incredible, original and grows on you each time you listen.  As good as the CD is, the band is even better live, if you can beieve that. If you get the chance to see them live, don't miss it.
