The Tingler is a duo comprising Ash Wednesday and Lyn Gordon, ex patriots from a variety of innovative Australian groups, most notably Crashland! and Modern Jazz. Wednesday was a founder member of JAB, Models and later, while based in Europe, has been a live performance member of the legendary German group, Einstuerzende Neubauten.
Despite incorporating electronic-based instrumentation, The Tingler perform in a impromptu, spontaneous manner - an approach based on years of experimentation and a strong desire to perform/record with an authentic 'here and now' attitude.
You will hear things on The Tingler CD that you have never heard before - sometimes in your face, sometimes subtle in a 'read between the lines' manner. Genre? - take your pick -
electro, alternative, beat poetry, avant-garde, psychedelic,
