Allen D. Bailey is the official present day Marshal of Dodge City, Kansas. He is also a singer/ songwriter/ recording artist/ record producer who has been a professional musician for many years.
Allen was born on a small farm 3 miles East of Gate, Oklahoma on June 13, 1954, into a family of five. In 1960, Allen's family moved to Cimarron, Kansas, where Allen attended high school, graduating in 1973. Allen met his wife Judith while attending 4-H camp in 1968. They were married in 1973, and from their marriage, have 3 children. Travis, Michael (1976-2006), and Sara. As of this writing, there are two grand daughters, Sapphira and Kierra who were born to Travis and his wife Leslie.
Allen always had a strong interest in the liberal arts, particularly music, and taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 13. By the time that he was 14, he was playing dances professionally. He now plays a number of instruments, including the guitar, bass guitar, pedal steel, fiddle, tenor banjo, and piano.
He is a member of "Partners of the Prairie"; a group of cowboys who tour the country performing cowboy poetry, stories, and western lore to delighted audiences over a wide area. Recently, they performed in Illeshiem, Germany.
Allen was appointed city Marshal of Dodge City, Kansas in February of 2000 during a regular meeting of the Dodge City council.
Marshal Bailey is also a radio personality. Twenty years ago, he created, and still hosts a Saturday show on High Plains Public Radio called "Western Swing and Other Things". This long running show is a favorite of thousands who listen in over a five state area of the mid-west, and world wide over the net at www.hppr.org.
"The Streets of Cimarron" is a collection of eleven cowboy songs and poetry which is performed and produced by Marshal Bailey. Eight songs are original compositions, along with two old-time cowboy poetry masterpieces, and a beautiful arrangement of the Kansas State Song, "Home On The Range".
Allen is joined on a duet by Patricia Loucks/ Walters who is an amazing young singer in her own right, that you are sure to enjoy.

This was a real treat to listen to! Just the kind of songs I love, especially the songs with the little stories. I hope Mr Bailey keeps it up and I will be hoping to see him bring out another CD as good as this one.
