Tin Teardrop's "Never Shake a Polaroid" is an early work that shows the band toying with an abundance of ideas within the new wave/post-punk/art-rock genres. Influences ranging from Elvis Costello and Talking Heads to Ted Leo and Dismemberment Plan can be heard in their sound, but for better or worse, Tin Teardrop make this their show.
Most of the songs were written while the members were still in high school, and were recorded when they were freshmen in college, displaying a maturity not often found in such young artists.
While the album only hints at where they would eventually head with their sound, it is an interesting reference point for fans of the band. The CD has a limited pressing, so get it while you still can.
