WOULDACOULDASHOULDA -
features Mike Hennrikus on bass guitar.
Chinatown - Rhythm section grooves with Bob's guitar "I wanna live, before I die. I wanna fly."
Way Back Home - An all time fave. Primo dumb riff. "Somthin' keeps draggin' me back to that shack in the square, and I pretend I'm there."
The Story Of My Life - Beautiful Enik slide. Cool drummin'. "She was as pretty as a poem. The lights were on, but nobody was home."
Carry On - A catchy little number, with a guest appearance by Jack Brass on horn. "I used to wanna be an astronaut, but that ain't what I got."
Lana - Nice one, a lost lover's lament. The instrumental break is really sweet, pretty guitar work by Bob.
ONCE UPON A TIME -
Lake Arcadia - A good place to splash and crash, the ol' stompin' grounds. Gotta love the false ending."Entertainment is planned by The Late Great Basement Band."
I Just Can't Wait - Nice melody, more quality Enik slide, Love that drummer. "I can't wait, not another minute, it's my dream, and I want you in it..."
Angela - Tough stuff, big electric by Tom. Interesting dynamics. "I wanna take you home, like a kitten from the storm, keep you safe and warm..."
Not Another Livin' Soul - Love those piano chords. Again, breathtaking guitar work by Bob. "She used to be the prettiest girl in town..."
Ride The Wind - Wow, gigantic sound, Bob on bass and synth, tons of guitars. Rockin' drums...."I was out at the airport when my ship came in."
Here Comes The Summer - The quiet side of tH, no guitars. Ocean and fireworks recorded live. There's a warm wind, rollin' in..."
HI FI CANDY
Golden Daze - A interesting experiment, very surreal. Pulsing, percolating percussion, and an odd array of effects.
Time's Slippin' Away - Very cool, different for sure. Vickie Gaebler guests on trumpet. "I almost had a glimpse, but it slipped away...."
Hold On - Another interesting experiment, Ed on electronic drums. "Don't you know what you got?"
Lost - Slammed by a reviewer at the time, nonetheless great drums and guitar! "Without you, I'm just a shadow of the man that I could have been."
YOU ARE HERE
Loser's Blues - Blazin' Tom Lally guitar, Mark on bass. "Went myself on a reckless spree, all that's left is the wreck that's left of me..."
Rock & Roll Man - More great guitar by Tom, Phil Calson on harp. "Just because bottle's old, that don't mean the wine ain't fine."
Dad Lost His Mind - Who is that friggin drummer? Ed rocks. Bob on bass and guitars, nice layered pianos.
(Way Down To) New Orleans - Tom & Phil excel. "I wanna be found, Louisiana bound, hangin' in The Quarter and hidin' Uptown."
Christine - CRUNCH! Most popular download ever. "Every time you're here, it's my lucky night."
Bonus! -
Almost Christmastime - This festive holiday perennial features Ed, Mike, Tom, Bob & Mark. You can almost hear the snow fall. Flawed, yet beautiful.
