Album Notes

Tiny Volcano is a quartet from Seattle, Washington, consisting of former members of Liars Club and The Jet City Fix. They fuse vintage 60's harmonies with modern guitar licks. Utilizing the song writing talents of Scott McPherson and the guitar versatility of Jon Ecklund, Tony Cooper (bass) and Dana Sims (drums) present a beautifully crafted gift of power pop and luscious harmonic daydreams.

My jaw just dropped- the self titled track #6, is "REALLY" reminiscent of
the High Llamas. 'Liam Gallagher' is a scream- it really captures their
vibe while you are poking fun at him. The guitar solo is pure Noel! :-)
Wow! - Kevin Collins

A dazzling debut and must for fans of The Wondermints, Jellyfish, XTC, Crowded House and Owsley to check out, big time! Check out the many soundbites here---we like the music to do the talking and they do. The singer sounds a lot like Neil Finn and Darian from Wondermints with healthy helpings of `la-la-la` vocals gently combining with bouncy, memorable melodies, reminding us, in many spots here, of "Bellybutton"-era Jellyfish. In a few parts, there`s some "Sunflower"-era Beach Boys going, too. And lots of Andy Partridge twists and turns. There`s not much of anything to fault here. Masterful songwriting, moving hooks and high impact pop for those looking for a fix with any of the bands listed above. NOT to be missed and two(if we had three, we`d thrust `three`) big thumbs up straight up, heavenward! - Bruce Brodeen @ www.notlame.com

"Scott McPherson and his three bandmates deliver a strong collection of songs on this spectacular debut. While some maintain that melodic pop is a thing of the past, Tiny Volcano is proof positive that those sounds continue to thrive. If Tiny Volcano can deliver on the promise shown here, their future looks (and will sound) very bright." - Gary Glauber/Fufkin.com *read the full review at http://www.fufkin.com/columns/glauber/glauber_rev_12_03.htm

What a great surprise this CD is! Out of nowhere comes Tiny Volcano, whose influences are worn proudly on their sleeves. Fans of Jellyfish (big time), XTC, Queen, The Beach Boys, and Owsley will eat this up just like we did. For sure to be one of the years top 10 CD's! "Loaded Gun" -This track just scratches the surface of the depth this CD holds. Big time excellent stuff! www.PopBang.com

I gave the TV album a spin at work today -- wow! What
a great, deep collection of tunes. I got a nice
early-70's "Sunflower" vibe from most of the material.
"Building a Bridge (Out of Water)" reminded me of Dave
Gregory's treatment of Partridge's "1000 Umbrellas" --
very nice! - Kerry Kompost

"Tiny Volcano" is an arcade of POP sounds, a parade of pretty POP melodies and an amusement park of POP chord changes and key manipulations. McPherson's songs, no matter how simple or complicated, refuse to let go of the listener; they lift the spirit even after being guilty of knocking it down. Pure POP dynamics. - Frank Cotolo/Gods of Music Webzine

This is the best music I have listened to tin a long time. It takes you back to the past, it also has such a now feeling, yet also has a future sound to it. Love the music and beat, eveything about it.

This cd is fantastic and a pleasure to play over and over again. The melodies kill!! They won't let you go, and you won't want them to. The arrangements are meticulous. The vocals are soulful. Many of the songs seem destined to be classics. Loaded Gun, Tiny Volcano, Wonderful Son, and Building a Bridge are my personal faves, but they're all great!

It's so refreshing to hear some real talent and artistry in this new release. I applaud your efforts to bring back "listenable" tunes to a music world that seems to have lost it's way over the years. Thanks guys, absolutely fantastic! Looking forward to the next release, soon!
