More good stuff from the Tiptons

Not as strong as their earlier work, but regardless, you don't
get much cooler than BTMSQ. As usual, the playing is
absolutely top-shelf and the beats are great (check out the
groove on "Miss Ann"). Amy Denio isn't on this album, which
is too bad; her songs mixed things up with Jessica Lurie's
in a way that's missed here. Anyway, jazzed-up dance and folk
music on saxophones --- what's not to like?

the tiptons blow me away-again

i heard the tiptons put out one last cd before they called it quits and in some ways this may be their best. the songwriting arranging and playing are as always kickin'! songs like atlas, reflex, and miss ann showcase the chops and the soul behind one of the coolest most unique all girl bands of our time.
