ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Raise that tent, heft that pole, all the cats rock to the Tip Top Trio! The Tip Top Trio are Sacramento´s premiere roots rockabilly trio, playing hard-rocking orginals and covers with the fire not heard since the fifties. With their Rockabilly Rocket fired up and roaring, Hot Wire Hot Rod, Dick Dice & Zack B. Hectic can't help but provide a good time, a great time, a feather-flyin, ball-blasting, panty-wreckin' time!! And never forget we have the pleasure of being blessed with indomitable Big Mama Callaway supplying an occasional, unforgetable, firey guest vocal

Excellent
I just got my copy of the 'Tip Top Trio' CD.
It has been a while since I have bought any music at all. But after finding these guys on myspace and listening to their live music and then the singles they posted I had to have thier album.
I popped it in and listened to it twice nonstop. It is well put together and the studio sound quakity is excellent. The CD cover is clear and crisp with an excellent picture of the band showing their true colors. The band shows just how much they care adding the lyrics are inside. So many time today bands just want to go cheap and put the money in their pocket. However this shows just how much The Trio cares about their fans.
I highly recomend this CD to any true rockabilly fan. If you don't get it you're missing out.

A+
This drummerless trio plays a brand of rockabilly solidly anchored in the fifties but often played at a frantic pace with here and there a touch of neo-rockabilly. The whole thing is very well recorded with a very clean sound (you can distincly hear each instrument and both the bass lines and the slap !), but clean doesn't mean sterile, don't be afraid. Another strong point is that these are all self penned songs, with the exception of Besame Mucho. But the most important is that each of them can sing lead which adds a lot of variety all through the 13 sides of this record. In the same way, the b-vox are rich with "question and answer" type of songs. Talking about singer, let's not forget Melissa Callaway who guests on "Shut Your Mouth".
A solid debut album, played by three talented musicians with a good and fresh attitude.

Can't get enough!!
Me oh, my oh! Now these cats have got my attention!! This here is the rockin'est rockabilly I've heard in a long, LONG while. Guitar solos straight tear it up and Rockabilly Rocket totally blew my mind. My Faves are Dream Girl, Shut Your Mouth (The one with the gal singing is awesome!) and the BEST one: Daddy-O. I agree with the last commenter, I couldn't get it out of my head either.
