Born in Houston on August 21, 1991, Timothy (TJ) Rose was the second youngest of five kids, raised by his single mother Jackie Williams. Mom brought up her children within the foundations of faith and family afforded by Mt. Rose Baptist Church. As early as elementary school, TJ began entering local talent shows and performing at church functions with his older brothers. After noticing how talented his brothers were, James Rose, TJ's older brother, decided that they should put together a group. As you probably could tell, TJ was the youngest of the brothers and was too imature for the older male group; so at age 12 his brothers kicked him out of the group. This only inspired the young singer/songwriter to get to where his brothers denied him the chance. “I have been building my career since I was younger,” TJ explains, “because singing has always been what I've wanted to do. At first, I thought about playing [professional] football, like my father wanted me to do, to follow in his foot steps; but in the end, it was all about the music.
