notes

T. J. Moore: Born in the heart of delta blues country in the town of Leland Mississippi. T.J. moved to California at an early age, and started performing in venues from small bars to large ballrooms since the age of twelve. His twenty five-year professional experiences have included European Tours, fronting his own Trio, several studio projects, as well as countless Club and Festival performances. Instrumentally he is equally adept at bringing down the house with a searing electric guitar solo or using a Slide on his Dobro to produce a mournful wail that conjures up the spirit of primal blues. Add to that the smokey sound of a voice that expresses a complete range of human emotions that is undeniably heartfelt and you have a journeyman performance that is truly authentic. As Ernie Rideout of Guitar Magazine says, "THIS CATS THE REAL THING".

Harmonica Player "Little Steven" Calvin adds his distinctive sound to the mix. His staccato chops and heartfelt wails have been arousing crowds for over 20 years. Drawing on early influences such as Sonny Terry, Little Walker and Jr.Wells, "Little Steven" "has shared the stage with Blues Legends LC Rocking Robinson, Dr. Wild Willie Moore and Sam Taylor. Playing over 200 shows along side TJ Moore, the two have developed a kinship buried in the blues.

Randall Haake a native of Houston Texas has been playing since early childhood starting with the guitar. He picked up the bass in his freshman year of high School and went on to study music at North Texas State University. For seven years, he was the "House" bassist on a paddle wheel boat in Galveston, Texas. Well versed in multiple styles and a veteran performer, he is a "Musicians Musician". This bassman is strong and always in the pocket. He has been playing with T. J. Moore for over six years now.

Drummer Tom Marshall, although the newest to the band, is not new to the blues. He has been drumming in Bay Area clubs for over 15 years. His distinctive style completes the groups primal blues sound.

Closing Time by TJ Moore Blues Band Lacey Production recorded at Midnight Rain Studios A CD Review By Gwen O'Neill It was a real treat while volunteering at the Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce booth at the Pumpkin Festival to be able to hear the TJ Moore Blues Band live after listening to their very successful first CD, Closing Time. Unlike some bands that substitute volume for careful orchestration, this band doesn't sacrifice musicianship. When the music is foot stompin' and really makes you want to boogy, it's not overbearing. From the sultry vocals and harmonica rifts to the moody ballads accompanied by brushes, the tracks are successful in getting the emotion across. The TJ Moore Blues Band are four men based in the Half Moon Bay area that have been acquainted with each other for many years and have played in various combinations before settling on this line up. This group of seasoned performers has been well received by audiences in clubs up and down the northern California coast. Their first major exposure was performing as one of four bands at the Berkeley Blues Festival where they received rave reviews. The song list is a mix of classic blues and originals written by TJ which quite often are assumed to be old standards and range from foot stompin' boogie to jump, swing, and sultry blues ballads. The Players TJ Moore was born in the heart of delta blues country in the town of Leland Mississippi, and his twenty-five-year professional experience has included European tours, several studio projects, as well as countless club and festival performances. In the new CD, TJ can bring down the house with a searing electric guitar solo or use a slide on his dobro to produce a mournful wail. His smokey voice expresses heartfelt emotions that produce an authentic experience. As Ernie Rideout of Guitar Player Magazine says, "This cat's the Real Thing." "Little Steven" Calvin adds his distinctive harmonica sound to the mix. He has shared the stage with blues legends L.C. Rockin Robinson, Dr. Wild Willie Moore, and Sam Taylor and has been arousing audiences for over twenty years. Randall "Rantone" Haake is a native of Houston, Texas. He studied music at North Texas State University and for seven years was the "house" bassist on a paddlewheel boat in Galviston, Texas. Adept in multiple styles and a veteran performer, Haake is described by many as a "musician's musician." Tommy Marshall is a dynamic drummer who brings fifteen years of experience to the band. From rockin' boogie beats to soft subtle brush work, he helps set the many moods of the blues. Gary McArthur of Half Moon Bay has also been joining the band in local gigs and considered by many to be a "very cool sax player." At a recent release party at the old Princeton Landing, they were also joined by Bay Area blues great, guitarist Chris Cobb. TJ says, "I want to thank the staff of the Old Princeton Landing for a great release party. Also the boys and I want to thank our publicist Randie Marlow for her great work and support. It is a pleasure for me to play the blues for the folks on the coastside and everywhere we go. it's especially good here cause this is my home.I earned my first dollars playing at Cardoni's HMB Inn when I was twelve years old and God bless them, they still let me in from time to time to sing a few songs."
