After years of playing guitar in various bands ranging from Metal, to Pop, to Rap, to Alternative, TJR AKA: Timothy John Ramirez came to the realization that the only way to get rock to the next level would be to go back to it's roots, and then move forward.

To do this, TJR immersed himself in both playing and listening to the music of the pioneers of Rock (Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran), and Blues (BB King, Bo Diddley, John Lee Hooker), before writing the songs for his debut album: Rip Roarin' Rock 'n' Roll

The result is a mix of cooler than thou vocals reminiscent of Elvis and Chris Issac, Bryan Setzer style guitar rhythms, Throw in a touch Eddie Van Halen / Johnny Lang Fretwork and toss in some Eric Clapton and Cream style Rockin' Blues and you have a big cup of Rock'n' Roll Revival. But, don't take our word for it. Read what others have had to say about TJR:

"This band cooks like a Texas Barbecue in the middle of July"! Vegas Weekly

"I felt baptized in the spirit of Rock'n'Roll" Live Magazine

"Ramirez has a strong voice and is headed in the right musical direction"! Music Connection Magazine

Confident Singin' and Chords Ringin'.

This is great Rock'n'Roll, confident singing and ringing chords. They have their own sound, Rockin' and Real. Better than anything on contemporary Top 40, and they respect their influences without copying them.

This is some real rock 'n' roll
author: PERSYGRRRL
I never get quite enough Rockabilly (or Rockabilly influenced music) coming my way, so I really appreciate this album from the beginning. It's nice to hear a band who aren't afraid to not follow whatever modern rock is cureently saying is cool and play what they want, and in this case, this is some real rock 'n' roll the way it was during the fifties and sixties. My pick tracks are 'Cool Cat Party' and 'When She Walks', the two that caught my interest the fastest and practically pulled my body over to the stereo to check track number. I bet alot of specialty shows and college radio will be digging this cool piece of plastic in the near future, and for good reason.

Oh Yeah!

These guys are sleazy in the best possible way! A very sophisticated sound that would be right at home in a smokey bar. Very well produced, but more importantly very good songs. I keep listening to it over and over. I'm waiting for TJR's other album to arrive....hopefully soon!!!!
